Silvia Manrique Tamayo is the Conservator and Collections Manager at The Wolfsonian-FIU museum in Miami Beach, FL. She specializes in the treatment of painted surfaces, preventive conservation, and collection and project management. She received a bachelor’s in conservation from the National Conservation and Restoration School (ENCRyM) in Mexico, and a Master’s degree in the conservation of wooden polychrome sculpture and painted surfaces from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). She completed two post-graduate internships in wooden polychrome sculpture conservation at the Royal Institute of Cultural Heritage (IRPA) in Brussels, Belgium, and at the Valencian Institute of Conservation in Valencia, Spain. Her previous experience includes positions as Conservator and Collections Manager at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, as well as various positions as conservator in museums and cultural institutions in Mexico and Guatemala.
