Sigourney received her BA in Fine Art, specializing in sculpture, from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She received an MA in Conservation of Fine Art, specializing in paper conservation, from Northumbria University, United Kingdom. She has interned at the Conservation Centre for the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, Iziko South African National Gallery, Kew Royal Botanical Gardens, UK. She was previously employed as the conservator for the University of Cape Town Special Collection Library and was a self-employed paper conservator in private practice in Cape Town. She has worked for The Better Image, USA and she was the NEA Paper Conservation Fellow at the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts, USA. She is currently the Conservator for the Georgia Archives, GA.
