Diane Davis


Biography

Diane has a very diverse work experience which ranges from raising wallabies and rehabilitating raptors, to writing science curriculum and project managing national & international science education initiatives such as leading a NASA webcast on a total solar eclipse in Africa, to making TV or radio appearances with animals and emceeing educational programs or teaching in the classroom. I received an MA in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University, with an emphasis in Biology and Education, and I hold a BS in Zoology and a minor in Education from the University of California, Davis. I learned skills in taxidermy & biofact management from the UC Davis Wildlife, Fisheries and Conservation Biology Museum Curator. I have over 20 years of experience in animal husbandry and biofact management. Currently I am the Director of the SJSU Science Education Resource Center (SERC) which is a unique educational resource center that houses over 10,000 science resources (of which about 6000 are natural history items) in the thematic areas of Earth Science, Physical Science, and Life Science. SERC's resources are checked out to SJSU students, pre-service and in-service teachers free of charge. _x000d_
