Biography

Vladimir Aituganov specializes in conservation and restoration of oil and tempera paintings on canvas, wood, glass, and works on paper: drawings, watercolors, prints, maps and photos. One of his unique skills is a restoration of antique globes. Mr. Aituganov also restores antique and contemporary mosaics. He received his BFA degree from Moscow University of Arts and MFA from Moscow State University. After graduation he worked as Associate Conservator on the restoration of famous Novodevitchy Convent in Moscow and Piotr I. Tchaikovsky Museum in Podolsk, Russia and he was teaching in Moscow Academy of Design (f. Stroganovskoe). Mr. Aituganov moved to USA in 1991 and continued his education in the Art Students League in New York, NY. In the United States he worked for various organizations, galleries and art dealers in New York and New Jersey. Among them were Nakashima Center for Peace, New Hope, PA; Ukrainian History and Education Center, Somerset, NJ; Princeton Art Academy, Princeton, NJ; Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, Toms River, NJ; St Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Jackson, NJ; Duke-Semons Mansion, New York, NY; George Glazer Gallery, New York, NY and many private clients. For several years Mr Aituganov lived in France and worked on the restoration of mansions and chateaus in Paris and St Tropez. Mr Aituganov currently resides in Hightstown, NJ and accepts artworks for restoration from the tri-state area.
