The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) has recently established a 3D Imaging Working Group to work towards formalizing the MFA's approach to 3D imaging for both internal and external stakeholders. To better understand how other institutions are addressing 3D imaging requests, we have created a survey to better understand the processes and challenges institutions face when it comes to 3D scanning practices at other institutions. We aim to use this information to help us work toward developing a common language around 3D practices across the field of museums and cultural organizations and establish supportive, sustainable procedures.
We are inviting participation in this survey. Your input would be incredibly valuable in helping us shape the next steps. The survey should take about 10 minutes and covers questions on goals, requests, procedures, and resources related to 3D data at your institution. It will remain open until November 20.
