I think you could modify this by looking at standards and brackets from U-Line or other industrial suppliers -- these would be the same idea, but heavier. To elaborate a bit on Sarah's comment, with which I agree, you might reduce the press or possible impressions/damage of the clips by putting a piece of thick, firm polyfelt between the quilt and the clip.
