Malia is currently Art Archivist Librarian for the Jean Charlot Collection and the Archive of Hawaii Artists & Architects, at the University of Hawaii Library. Previously, she was a preservation management specialist at Hamilton Library and collections manager for both the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts’ Art in Public Places Program and ‘Iolani Palace. She is a National Heritage Responder and previously served on the AIC-Emergency Committee. She is frequently called upon by the local community for advice on disaster planning and response, integrated pest management, environmental monitoring, collections storage, exhibitions, archival supplies and general collections management and registration issues for archives and museums.
