Foekje Boersma is Head of Collection Care at the KB National Library of the Netherlands. Prior to this, she was Senior Project Specialist at the Getty Conservation Institute from 2013-2018, as manager of the Managing Collections Environment initiative. From 2009 until 2013, she worked at the National Archives of the Netherlands, where she coordinated preservation projects in a national subsidy program. Between 2006 and 2009 she worked at the Getty Conservation Institute as a Project Specialist and developed a number a preventive conservation-related projects. Prior to her arrival at the GCI, she had spent several years managing large-scale preventive conservation activities for Helicon Conservation support in the Netherlands. Foekje was trained as a textile conservator at the State Training School for Conservators in Amsterdam, and worked as a textile conservator for several Dutch museums and for the Textile Conservation Center in the UK.
