Patricia Sherwin Garland received her degree in the history of art, with a minor in fine arts, from Connecticut College. She received her conservation training as an apprentice and subsequently worked for 20 years at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford. he was the Subsequently, she was Senior Conservator of Paintings at the Yale University Art Gallery for 17 years before she retired. Patricia continues to see collectors and museum clients as a consultant. She is particularly interested in the research, study and treatment of easel paintings. She was a lecturer in the History of Art Department at Yale, teaching classes on the History of Materials and Techniques, Technical Art History and Modern Materials. She is now a conservator in private practice, treating paintings for museums, collectors, foundations, universities and galleries.
