Emily Williams directs the MA program in the Conservation of Archaeological and Museum Objects at Durham University. Prior to this she was the Senior Conservator for Archaeological Materials at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. She has worked on a number of sites in the US and abroad and earned her PhD in Archaeology in 2018 from the University of Leicester. Her dissertation work focused on how questions of identity and memory have shaped our approaches to the preservation of African American tombstones and Civil war monuments.
