Biography

I am the Senior Conservator at the University of Chicago Library, where I focus on conservation treatment of rare materials such as Special Collections books, maps and documents. I have a BA in art history and studio art from Sarah Lawrence College, a Masters of Art Conservation from Queen's University and an MSLIS from University of Illinois. While a student at Queen's, I completed internships at the National Gallery of Canada and at the National Archives and Records Administration. After graduating from Queen's with my MAC, I completed internships at the Sheridan Libraries and Museums of Johns Hopkins University, and at the Jewish Museum of Maryland. Before I started at the U of C in 2012, I completed a two-year postgraduate fellowship in special collections conservation at the Northwestern University Library. During this fellowship, I researched 19th and 20th century music manuscript reproductions known as "ozalids." This type and era of photoreproduction is still one of my primary research interests.
