Helena Jaeschke

Royal Albert Memorial Museum

Biography

An Accredited conservator (UK PACR scheme), Helena originally qualified as an archaeological conservator. Working for museums across the UK required further training and knowledge of an increased range of materials and objects including ethnographic and natural science collections. Helena has worked on site in the UK and overseas, especially Egypt. Her current role is to provide conservation and collection care advice to the 400+ museums and heritage sites across the southwest of England as part of a taxpayer-funded scheme of museum development. This includes training, site visits, problem-solving and helping the museums to find appropriate conservators and source funding to conserve items from their collections.
