Kathy graduated from Cardiff University in 1992 with a degree in archaeological conservation. She has worked for excavations in Greece (particularly Crete), the UK, Kenya and Turkey where she worked for four years at the Institute of Nautical Archaeology. Kathy also spent several years at the University Museum in Austin, Texas. Her particular interests include: investigative conservation of all types of excavated material, including material from underwater excavations, the stabilization of metallic artifacts, and storage issues for archaeological collections.
