I had a conservator tell me that printed Tyvek was fine for shelf curtains as long as the print was not facing the artifacts. This is a great study and, ironically, I think it supports using coroplast for permanent shelving. Coroplast is the most durable. Once applied to permanent shelving, you should never have to replace it during your tenure and, perhaps, not even by your successor. Foam core will tear when you start moving ...

No matter what you put, I have found the ethafoam will get caught and usually tear. Better to just set it in place so it can slide as needed. I've found that instead of using ethafoam, lining shelving with coroplast works much better. It is inert and artifacts (and boxes) slide on it easily. I've used ...
