Appeals Committee

  • Hears appeals of all actions of the Board of Directors taken pursuant to the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice.
  • Consists of three Fellows appointed by the Board of Directors. They serve for six year terms each with a new member appointed every other year. Should a vacancy occur before a term has expired, the board appoints a new member to serve out the remaining portion of the term. Members may be removed for cause only.
  • Appoints two additional members when considering an appeal. The appointed members must be full voting members and have the same specialty as the accused member(s). One must be a Professional Associate if the accused is a Professional Associate. The terms of the two additional members expires upon completion of the specific appeal case.
