No. The Approved Assessor list is sent to participating institutions, who can select their assessor at will.
Do your best to work with the institution to overcome any obstacles. Keep in mind that you have signed a contract with them, and are subject to the clauses of that contract. If you experience ongoing challenges that may impact your ability to complete the assessment before the deadline, contact us.
A detailed fee schedule should be part of your contract with the institution. See the Cost and Process sections for more information.
After you have submitted your final report, invoice, and feedback form, we will verify that the institution has received the final report. After verification, we will process your allocated payment. You should expect payment for your professional fee from FAIC within four weeks of the institution’s receipt of the final report. Remaining fees will come directly from the institution.
FAIC administers the CAP Program under a cooperative agreement with the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). FAIC’s CAP Program staff is responsible for developing program materials with guidance from a Steering Committee, reviewing applications, guiding assessors and institutions through the process, processing assessor payments, and evaluating and adapting the program.
