Reach out to your local communities and create opportunities to introduce new audiences to the importance of conservation.

  • Talk to your local library or cultural organizations about holding a lecture or event.

  • Reach out to members of the press to talk about current projects or a profile of you or your institution. Our Public Relations Toolkit offers guidance about direct communication with the public and the press, using both traditional and social media outlets.
  • Advocate for Conservation. You can get inspiration for how to reach out to your leaders and representatives via the American Alliance of Museums.
  • Encourage people interested in conservation to sign up for our monthly “Friends of Conservation” news updates to learn about stories in conservation, get preventive conservation tips, and get insights into how we help preserve and protect cultural heritage.
  • Share information from our website, covering topics including "What is Conservation?" and Frequently Asked Questions.
  • Learn about Conservation in Social Media and share our posts to raise awareness of the field.
